Sustainability and Responsibility

Pittel+Brausewetter has been active in the construction industry for more than 150 years. We address ecological, economic and social issues within the framework of our management systems, processes and operational activities.

In doing so, we pursue a practice-oriented approach: we take relevant requirements into account within our existing structures and continuously develop processes and measures based on practical experience, internal assessments and changing legal, technical and organisational framework conditions.

As a construction company, sustainability affects various areas of our daily activities. These include, among others, the use of energy and resources, the use and processing of building materials, logistics processes, as well as occupational safety and health.

Environment, Energy and Resources

Since summer 2025, Pittel + Brausewetter has had its own railway siding in Vienna-Inzersdorf. This provides the technical possibility to shift material transport from road to rail. The impact is documented based on the quantities actually transported, the truck journeys replaced and the greenhouse gas emissions calculated from this.

Also located at the Vienna-Inzersdorf site is ContraCon, the building materials recycling company belonging to the Pittel+Brausewetter Group, which means that the Group has its own expertise in the field of building materials recycling.
